In case you missed the email, or were not on the list at the time it was sent out, here is what Ariane had to say.
Ariane Rosario
Hello all,
My name is Ariane Rosario and I am the Conference Chair for SWE this year. I wanted to share some important information regarding those interested in attending conference this year. As you all know, the SWE national conference in Baltimore is approaching quickly, on October 24th-26th. If you are planning to attend the conference and want to have your hotel stay payed for, please pay close attention to the following comments:
You MUST sign the Traveling Affidavit sheet that I have in my possession. This is form is due to Student Government by September 17th, so you must ensure that you meet with me before that day if you plan on traveling with SWE. This can be done by either
a) Attending the General Body meeting on September 16th from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM in ENB 109 or
b) By meeting with me during the following times in the Fishbowl (ENB lobby):
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 PM – 4:30 PM
Fridays from 10:30 AM – 12:30 AM
Please let me know via email if you would like to meet during those times. If you cannot make those times, please send me an email a few days prior to when you can meet and I will try my best to accommodate. Please note that spots are LIMITED and will fill up quickly. If you do not meet this deadline, you will have to pay for your own stay.
In addition to signing the affidavit, members must register on the SWE national website at we13.swe.org. It is recommended to stay for the entire conference. The rate for collegiate national members is $90, and collegiate non-members pay $125. Flights must also be purchased individually, and be sure to buy as soon as possible because the price increases quickly.
That being said, I hope that you decide to attend the conference with SWE! It’s a great way to become more involved in the organization and make connections in the industry, and is also a lot of fun! If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to shoot me an email at: arosario2@mail.usf.edu
Thanks, and have a wonderful week!
Ariane Rosario
